Agency verification
Every document is manually reviewed before granting the verified badge. That is how we ensure a directory of trustworthy crew agencies.
Why do we verify agencies?
An employer who hires crew through an agency needs certainty that the agency is legitimate, that its crew members hold the certifications stated on their profiles and that the intermediation is professional. A single mismatch between a profile and reality can compromise a vessel's operation or flag state compliance. At GoMonkeyMate we believe trust cannot be delegated to an algorithm: every agency that requests the verified badge goes through a human review of their documentation and portfolio, ensuring that the badge means exactly that — an agency checked one by one by our team.
What exactly do we check?
We verify that the agency is legally registered in its country of operation, that it holds the necessary permits for crew intermediation, that civil liability insurance is in force and that professional references from employers or yacht owners are real and verifiable. We also cross-reference a sample of crew profiles against stated certifications to ensure the portfolio reflects reality. If any document has inconsistencies, we contact the agency to clarify before any rejection — the goal is to certify, not to filter.
